What Happens After Your Wedding Day
Most guests think the photographer's job ends when the dancing stops. In reality, the biggest chunk of work starts after the wedding.
Week 1–2: Backup and Culling
- Your photographer shot 5,000–15,000 photos across your events
- Every image is backed up to multiple drives
- They cull through every photo, keeping the best 800–1,500
- Blurry shots, duplicates and closed eyes are removed
Week 2–6: Editing
- Each selected photo is individually colour-corrected
- Skin tones, lighting and backgrounds are adjusted
- Group photos may need face-swaps from alternate shots (when someone blinked)
- This isn't Instagram filters — it's careful, image-by-image work
Week 4–8: Film Editing (If Applicable)
- Footage is reviewed (often 10–20 hours of raw video)

- Music is selected and licensed
- Sound design, colour grading and titling are added

Don't panic if: - It's been 6 weeks and you haven't received the full gallery — that's normal - Your photographer sent highlights within 2 weeks but the film is taking longer — films always take longer
Do follow up if: - You've heard nothing at all after 4 weeks — a quick, polite check-in is reasonable - The contracted delivery date has passed with no communication - Your photographer stops responding to messages
