Privacy policy
How Ginger Films collects, uses and protects your information. Written in plain English. Last updated 21 September 2026.
Who we are
Ginger Films is the wedding photography and film studio of Art-O Productions (OPC) Private Limited, headquartered in Bangalore, India, with crews in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi and Bhopal. This policy covers gingerfilms.in, estimate.gingerfilms.in, and the ways you talk to us — WhatsApp, Instagram, email and phone.
What we collect
Things you give us. When you ask for a proposal or book us: your name, phone number, email, wedding dates, city and venue, guest count, the functions you want covered, and anything you share while we plan — moodboards, family details, music picks. When you pay us: billing name and address. We never see your full card number; our payment partner handles that.
Things collected automatically. Standard website analytics (pages visited, device, rough location from your IP address) and advertising identifiers set by Meta Pixel and Google Ads, which tell us whether an ad brought you here and whether you used the proposal tool.
Things from other places. If you message us on Instagram or Facebook, we see the profile details those platforms share. If a venue, planner or past client refers you, we may receive your name and number from them.
What we use it for
To prepare your proposal, contract and invoices. To plan and shoot your wedding — including briefing the freelance photographers and filmmakers assigned to your day. To talk to you before, during and after the wedding. To take payments and keep the accounting and GST records Indian law requires. To show ads to people who visited our site (called "retargeting") and to measure whether our ads work. To keep the website working and to stop fraud or misuse.
Your photos and films in our portfolio
Like most studios, we show our work — a few images or short clips from your wedding may appear on our website, Instagram, YouTube or in proposals to other couples. We don't attach your surname or contact details. If you would rather we didn't feature your wedding, tell us before or after the event at hello@gingerfilms.in and we'll leave it out or take it down.
Cookies and tracking
Our sites use cookies and pixels for three things: making the proposal tool work, measuring site traffic, and advertising through Meta and Google. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the proposal tool may not remember your progress if you do.
Who we share it with
The freelance crew working your wedding (only what they need for the day). Meta and Google, for messaging and advertising. Our payment partners, who process card and UPI payments and keep those details, not us. The accounting, CRM and email software we run the studio on. Government authorities, when the law requires it. We do not sell your information to anyone.
How long we keep it
Enquiry and booking details: through delivery of your photos and film, then for the years Indian tax and accounting rules require. Marketing contacts: until you ask to stop hearing from us. Portfolio images: until you ask us to remove them. Your online gallery stays live for 6 months after delivery; after that your project is archived.
How we protect it
Access is limited to the people who need it for your wedding. We use established, reputable platforms for payments, storage and messaging rather than handling sensitive data ourselves, and we keep backups of your delivered work.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it (unless the law says we must keep it, such as invoices), stop marketing messages, or remove your wedding from our portfolio. Children
Our services are for adults planning a wedding. Children appear in wedding photos and films as guests; the portfolio rules above apply to them too. We don't knowingly collect personal details from children through our website or tools.
Where your data lives
In India, on the platforms we use. If you contact us from outside India, your information will be handled here.
Changes
